O.P. Chautala Approached the Delhi High Court Seeking Three-Month Parole

Former Haryana Chief Minister O. P. Chautala on Wednesday approached the Delhi High Court seeking three-month parole for his wife's serious illness and hospital admission.

Justice Sangeeta Dhingra Sehgal asked the Delhi Government to submit its report on this and fixed the date for April 12 for the next hearing. Chautala's lawyer N.Harharan and lawyer Amit Sahni told the court that according to the parole and the guidelines of the Delhi jail, one convict is entitled to parole twice a year for eight weeks and Chautala has more than one year Time has not taken parole, he is entitled to be released on parole.

Chautala and his eldest son, Ajay Chautala, were convicted in the JBT (Junior Basic Teacher) recruitment scam in January 2013. Both the Delhi Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been sentenced to 10 years in jail.
