Nursery Admission to Start from 28 November

The government is starting the process for nursery admission in private schools from 28 November. These admissions will be for the Academic session 2020-21. The process of filling the form started from December 15 last year. The Directorate of Education is making final preparations for the admission in KG and Class-I including nursery. The Directorate believes that starting the process on time will ease the problems of both parents and the school. Children's education will also start on time.

The admission process for private schools for nursery class is going to start about 15 days earlier than last year. Education director Vinay Bhushan said that notification will be issued soon for the admission process. Admission for these initial classes will be under point system. Criteria will upload the school admission on the school website, notice board and education directorate website. Schools cannot retain the criterias which have been removed on the orders of the High Court. The directorate will also issue a list of these points, under which admissions cannot be made. Neighborhood will be given priority in admission this time too. A monitoring committee will also be set up to ensure criterion. Last year, the Directorate implemented the upper age limit for all three classes, which is expected to remain this year. The limit was set at 3 to 4 years for nursery, 4 to 5 years for KG and 5 to 6 years for class 1 (till 31 March).

Preparation for admission process is underway for Economically weaker Section / Disadvantage Group (EWS / DG) category. The education director said that the data for seats of private schools has been called from all the DDEs. Some district data is yet to come. Our intention is to complete the admission process for these children on time. Vinay Bhushan said that on November 15, we have placed another computerized draw for this year's vacant seats of EWS / DG category (Academic session 2018-19). This time, we will convert about 5 thousand seats which are left vacant for Divyang students and will be included in this draw. In total, EWS will have up to 41 thousand seats.
