After Urban Bodies of Rajasthan failing in collection of Urban Development tax, Now this work will be handed over to the private company.  Currently, Private company does the UD tax collection in Haryana, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Delhi. The policy being adopted for collecting UD tax in these four states was studied by the officials of the Rajasthan government and their proposal was approved by Minister Shanti Dhariwal.

Firstly the task of collecting UD tax will be given to the private company in Jaipur. This company will determine the UD tax by conducting door-to-door survey and then also do the work of collection. The employees of the revenue branch of the corporation will accompany them in this work. A decision in this regard has been taken in the meeting of Jaipur Municipal Corporation. The government believes that this will increase revenue. The increased revenue can be used in the development of the city. Jaipur Municipal Corporation Chief Executive Officer VP Singh says that if the income of the corporation increases, the common people will get necessary facilities like sewerage, light and park. Presently UD tax collection work is negligible.

According to the information, the government wants tax to be collected from hoardings and glow sign boards on private buildings. Now the private company will collect the tax by surveying the hoardings and glow sign boards on the private properties. In the next phase, the work of UD tax collection will be given to the provision company in the area of ​​Kota, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Udaipur and Bharatpur Municipal Corporation. If this work is successful in the municipal areas, it will be considered to give tax collection in private hands in big municipalities and municipal councils. It is noteworthy that the process of local body elections will begin in the coming days.
