However, he has also said that he is leaving Congress because he is unable to bear the humiliation which he has to bear.

On Thursday morning, Captain Amarinder Singh also met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in Delhi itself. The Captain told the media, 'I am not joining the BJP, but I am leaving the Congress. I can't bear such humiliation.

The Captain said, 'So far I am in Congress but will not be in Congress. I will not allow this kind of treatment to happen to me. Meanwhile, Congress has also tried to contact Amarinder Singh. Senior party leaders Ambika Soni and Kamal Nath are constantly trying to talk to Amarinder. However, despite being in Delhi, the Captain did not meet party President Sonia Gandhi. He has also given a clear message by meeting the same BJP leaders, he will no longer live in Congress.

The Captain had resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab on September 18 at the behest of the Congress high command. After this, he openly expressed his displeasure, which intensified the speculation of him joining the BJP.
