No Reason to Doubt Integrity of World Cup 2011 Final: ICC

On Friday, Sri Lankan police made it clear that they did not find anything against the World Cup 2011 final match, on the basis of which it could be extended further, so its investigation has been stopped. Now, the ICC has also made it clear that there is no reason to doubt the World Cup 2011 final match. The ICC said that no such evidence was found against this match on the basis of which it should be investigated.

Sri Lankan Police didn't find any evidence in this case:

Let us tell you that former Sri Lankan Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage had alleged that some sides in Sri Lanka had fixed the final and after this India won the World Cup title. After his statement, the Sri Lankan police investigated the matter. Police said it did not find any evidence in favor of Aluthgamage's baseless claims.

ICC released a statement regarding this case:

The ICC Integrity Unit has taken note of recent allegations regarding the World Cup Final 2011. ICC Anti-Corruption Unit General Manager, Alex Marshall also released a statement regarding this incident. He said, 'We have no reason to doubt the integrity of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Final 2011.'

The ACU chief said that at this time no evidence has been presented to support this claim so that the ICC should initiate an investigation under the Anti-Corruption Code. The former Sri Lankan minister's claim was also rubbished by Marshall in which he said that a letter related to the fixing allegations was sent to the ICC.

All allegations regarding World Cup final are wrong and baseless: ICC

Marshall said that there was no record of the then Sports Minister of Sri Lanka sending a letter to the ICC in this regard. The senior staff of the ICC also confirmed that they did not receive any such letter. He made it clear that the ICC takes all allegations related to match-fixing seriously. But no evidence has been revealed regarding this match, so all these allegations are wrong and baseless.
