New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has banned the entry of any Motorcycle (two-wheeler) without a helmet on the Agra Lucknow Expressway. UPEIDA has tweeted the information about this. One day earlier, Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority had said that Agra can not complete 302 km of Lucknow Expressway in less than three hours.

On Monday, UPEIDA CEO Ashwani Kumar Awasthi said, "The government has made helmets necessary for two-wheelers in the country's largest expressway route to reduce road accidents. Two-wheelers without helmets will not be allowed to go through the expressway on this route. He said, "UPEIDA is constantly looking forward to the pleasant and safe journey of the people. Large security arrangements are being made on Expressway.

Let us tell you that the decision taken by the government few days ago after the UPSRTC Bus Accident on Yamuna Expressway, in which 29 passengers died. After this incident, safety standards have been increased on the expressway. Since the beginning of December 2016, more than 250 people have died on this important highway.

The press note issued by UPEIDA said, "Continuous efforts are being made by UPEIDA for strengthening the security arrangement at Agra Lucknow Expressway. In view of this, according to wide public interest and security, it has been decided by UPDA that no two-wheeler driver will be allowed to enter the Agra Lucknow Expressway without helmets. Instructions have been issued to ensure strict compliance.

The main reason for the death of two-wheelers in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh is not to wear a helmet. According to a report from the Traffic Department, in the year 2018, 22,000 deaths have been reported in Uttar Pradesh in road accidents. Out of which 6,020 people died due to not wearing helmets. At the same time, 4,925 people were badly injured due to not wearing helmets.
