The four convicts of Nirbhaya gang rape and murder in Tihar jail are in depression and have also reduced their food intake. Jail sources gave this information on Friday.
Sources said that four-five security personnel have been deployed with each convict so that they do not harm themselves. Senior officials, including Tihar Jail Director General Sandeep Goyal, visited the jail on Friday to review the preparations for hanging the culprits and expressed satisfaction.
Nirbhaya's mother has filed a petition against the review petition of one of the convicts in the Supreme Court. Akshay Thakur, one of the four accused hanged, has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court. Nirbhaya's mother has also moved the Supreme Court against this. The apex court has decided to hear Akshay Thakur's plea on 17 December.
Nirbhaya's mother says that the convict has entered the review petition to delay the hanging. He said that the culprits should be hanged at the earliest and should not be delayed.
