Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Friday that the next two and a half months are going to be very crucial in the war against Coronavirus, in view of upcoming festivals and cold weather. Therefore it is the responsibility of all of us not to take any kind of negligence. He said that the trial of three Corona vaccines in the country is in the advanced stage. If all goes well, the country will soon begin production of the indigenous corona vaccine.
The Union Health Minister said that three vaccines are under development in India and the Phase III clinical trial is underway for one of the vaccines, while two vaccines are currently undergoing Phase II clinical trials.
Health Minister held a meeting with officials through video conferencing:
Harsh Vardhan said, ‘We are now entering into the tenth month of our fight against COVID-19. It was on the 8th of January when we had our first meeting of the expert group. Since then, the journey has been relentless. But today, we can proudly say that we have created a significant infrastructure for our fight against COVID.’ The Health Minister held a meeting with institute heads and directors of the Department of Science and Technology and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) through video conferencing to review Covid appropriate behavior.
Virus can be prevented to a large extent through general precautionary measures:
The Health Minister said that the corona has affected the whole world but the infection can be prevented to a large extent through general precautionary measures. These precautionary measures include wearing masks, especially in public places and adhering to the etiquette of cleanliness. The Union Minister emphasized the importance of physical distance to prevent infection effectively.
India is continuously recording new milestones in treatment of Covid: Harsh Vardhan
Harsh Vardhan said, “India is continuously recording new milestones in the treatment of Covid. Our Recovery rate is the highest in the world and the fatality is among the lowest. Active Cases are constantly declining. All the parameters have proven the success of the COVID-19 containment strategy followed by all States and UTs. We have successfully ramped up our testing capacity to meet the requirements. India also has now become self-reliant in terms of masks, PPE kits and ventilators which we earlier used to import.”
