According to news published on December 21, 2021, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting stated that it has ordered the blocking of 20 YouTube channels and two websites as part of a coordinated effort with intelligence agencies because they are involved in anti-India propaganda and were spreading fake news. The ministry issued two orders on Monday, one directing YouTube to block 20 channels and the other directing YouTube to block two news websites.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in a statement on Tuesday, "The channel and website belong to a coordinated propaganda network operating from Pakistan and were spreading fake news about various sensitive subjects related to India." This was done in order to post divisive content on topics such as 'Kashmir, Indian Army, Minority communities in India, Ram Mandir, General Bipin Rawat, and so on' in a coordinated manner.
