Side Effect of Corona Period: Indiscriminate Use of Fentanyl in Lockdown

During the lockdown, Americans used painkillers indiscriminately to avoid corona. Due to this, one lakh Americans died due to painkiller overdose from May 2020 to April 2021. According to the report released by the US agency CDC, there has been a 30 percent increase in drug overdose deaths compared to last year. While this figure has more than doubled in the last five years. This figure of drug overdose has come to the fore as a side effect of the Corona period in America. So far more than eight lakh people have died in America from Corona. Around five lakh deaths occurred during the period May 2020 to April 2021.

According to the CDC, the maximum of 64 thousand deaths out of one lakh have been caused by the synthetic painkiller fentanyl. Fentanyl is about 100 times faster than morphine. According to Dr. Nora Volkov of the National Institute of Drug Abuse, people have used painkillers in large quantities during the epidemic. Fentanyl made in India and China reaches America via Mexico.

70% of the dead are between 25 and 54 years of age

• According to drug administrator Annie Milgram, drug overdose is a national disaster. Agencies have caught so much fentanyl that 33 crore people would have died by consuming it.
• Medicines are sold through fake prescriptions online and on social media. During the last two months, the DEA arrested 800 and seized 18 lakh fentanyl.
• An 11-month-old girl in Carolina died of a fentanyl overdose. The case is going on against his parents. A teenager also died of an overdose in Los Angeles.

Fentanyl is a deadly drug in one kg packet

• There have been many cases of supply of fentanyl on the social media app Snapchat.
• Fentanyl powder is pressed and converted into pills.

• President Joe Biden has announced $ 4 billion as a Corona package, but it has not been fully utilized.

Britain: Antibiotic infection increased risk

Susan Hopkins, chair of the UK Health Security Agency, has warned that the hidden risk of anti-antibiotic infection is likely to increase after the corona. He said that there was a lot of use of antibiotics during the Corona period. Antibiotics are still being given for the common cold.
