Side Effect of Corona Period: Indiscriminate Use of Fentanyl in Lockdown

During the lockdown, Americans used painkillers indiscriminately to avoid corona. Due to this, one lakh Americans died due to painkiller overdose from May 2020 to April 2021. According to the report released by the US agency CDC, there has been a 30 percent increase in drug overdose deaths compared to last year. While this figure has more than doubled in the last five years. This figure of drug overdose has come to the fore as a side effect of the Corona period in America. So far more than eight lakh people have died in America from Corona. Around five lakh deaths occurred during the period May 2020 to April 2021.

According to the CDC, the maximum of 64 thousand deaths out of one lakh have been caused by the synthetic painkiller fentanyl. Fentanyl is about 100 times faster than morphine. According to Dr. Nora Volkov of the National Institute of Drug Abuse, people have used painkillers in large quantities during the epidemic. Fentanyl made in India and China reaches America via Mexico.

70% of the dead are between 25 and 54 years of age
