In Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, 8 policemen were martyred in taking on criminals. The police, who went to capture the wanted criminal Ajay Dubey, were surrounded by criminals. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has summoned all the eight policemen martyred in an encounter with Vikas Dubey in Kanpur, as well as an immediate spot report from DGP Hitesh Chandra Awasthi.

Before this, Samajwadi Party targeted the state government, making serious allegations of giving protection to the attackers. Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police HC Awasthi said that Uttar Pradesh STF is in search of the attacking miscreants. A case was registered against the history-sheeter Vikas Dubey under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and police caught in this connection. The miscreants had placed the JCB on the route, blocking the route. As soon as the police team stopped there, firing started on them from a height, in which 8 policemen were killed. The DGP has also confirmed the injuries to seven Soldiers in it. ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar has left for the spot.
