Chris Gayle’s Historic Record: The First Player to Complete 14,000 runs in T20

Chris Gayle of West Indies has set another big record in the cricket world. He has become the first player in the world to score 14,000 runs in T20 format.

Chris Gayle of West Indies has set another big record in the cricket world. He has become the first player in the world to score 14,000 runs in T20 format. Gayle made this record in his own style by hitting a six. He achieved this feat against Australia in the third T20 being played at Gros Islet. Virat Kohli is the only Indian in the top-5 of the list of most T20 runs. Kohli is at number five with 9922 runs in 310 T20s so far.

West Indies beat Australia in series

A 5 T20 series is being played between West Indies and Australia at Gross Islet. On Tuesday, the Windies defeated Australia by 6 wickets in the third match to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series. In the match, Australia won the toss and batted first, and scored 141 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply, the Windies team scored 142 runs losing 4 wickets in 14.5 overs, and won the match.

Gayle hits a six off Adam Zampa's ball

In the same match, Chris Gayle has made this big record while playing an innings of 67 runs in 38 balls. He was also adjudged player of the match. Gayle completed his 14 thousand runs in T20 by hitting a six on the first ball of the 9th over of the innings. Before the match, Gayle needed just 29 runs to make this record. He made a record by hitting a six-off leg spinner Adam Zampa's ball.

So far, more than 10 thousand runs in the name of 4 players

So far only 4 players have been able to score more than 10 thousand runs in the overall T20. Among them, Chris Gayle is at the top with 14,000 runs. There is no one around them either. At number two is Kieron Pollard of the Windies team, who has scored 10836 runs. Pakistan's Shoaib Malik (10741) is third and Australia's David Warner (10017) is at number four. Indian captain Virat Kohli (9922) is at number five.
