Afghanistan has recalled its ambassador to Islamabad and other senior diplomats over "security threats" after the alleged abduction and torture of the daughter of Afghanistan's Ambassador Najib Alikhil in the Pakistani capital. The leadership of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has recalled the Afghan envoy and other senior diplomats from Islamabad back to Kabul until all the security threats removed."

Meanwhile, Afghanistan's Vice President Amrullah Saleh tweeted, "The abduction of Afghan ambassador's daughter & her subsequent torture has wounded the psyche of our nation. Our national psyche has been tortured."
