New Zealand has announced the squad for the 5 matches T20 series against India. A 14-member team has been announced in Kane Williamson's captaincy, with Hamish Bennett returning after two years. The Kiwi team has given opportunity to many young players as many experienced Kiwi players are currently running out of team due to injuries.

Kane Williamson, who was left out of the T20 series against England due to injury, has returned. Colin de Grandhomme will be a part of the team for the first 3 matches, while Tom Bruce is included for the last 2 matches. He will also captain the 'New Zealand A' team for the series against 'India A'. Jimmy Neesham has not been included in the team. The series will start between India and New Zealand from 24 January.

New Zealand's bowler Hamish Bennett last played for New Zealand in 2017. He played an ODI against Bangladesh in May 2017 in Dunedin. He had played one Test and 16 ODIs for the team. He is a right-handed medium pacer and may get a chance to make his international T20 debut in the series against India. Hamish Bennett is currently at number three in the T20 Super Smash with 14 wickets. His economy is 7.06 while his wicket taking average is 18.42. He last played against India in 2014.

New Zealand T20 squad: Kane Williamson (captain), Hamish Bennett, Colin de Grandhomme (for the first 3 matches), Tom Bruce (for last 2 match), Martin Guptill, Scott Kuglin, Darryl Mitchell, Colin Munro, Ross Taylor, Blair Tickner , Mitchell Santner, Tim Seifert, Ish Sodhi and Tim Southee.
