Nepal: 156 New Cases of Corona Infected reported in One day, Total number Exceeded 1000

On Thursday, Nepal recorded the highest number of coronavirus infected in a single day. 156 new cases of infected were reported, with the number of Covid-19 infected patients in the country reaching to 1042. According to information provided by the Ministry of Health of Nepal, 12 out of 156 newly infected people are women and new positive cases of Covid-19 patients range in age from 2 years to 70 years, whereas Dhanusha, Jhapa and Rautahat districts bordering India have reported 29, 25 and 20 new cases respectively in the last 24 hours.

17 from Mahotri, 14 from Saptri and 14 from Surkhet, 8 from Dalekh, 7 from Sarlahi, 6 from Siraha, 3-3 from Singja and Bardiya, 2-2 from Dolakha and Kailali, Navalpur, Solukumbh, Bazhang, Darchula, Makvanpur and 1-1 patients have been found from Banke district, whereas one patient has died due to Covid-19, with the total number of people died here has gone up to 5.

So far PCR has conducted 60,696 tests and the number of patients recovering from infection are 187. The Ministry stated that at present the number of active patients admitted in various hospitals of the country is 850. The number of Covid-19 patients has increased in the last few weeks, when hundreds of Nepalese expatriates have returned here from India, whereas Nepal has a nationwide lockdown until 2 June. Nepal has also suspended all domestic and international flights till 14 June. In view of the increasing cases of Corona virus, the government has sealed the Kathmandu Valley and has completely banned the entry of people into the capital.
