Indian pro boxer Neeraj Goyat has been hospitalized after suffering"serious wounds" following a car accident, ruling him out of one month from now's WBC Pearl World Championship clash against British star Amir Khan.

Indian pro boxer Neeraj Goyat suffered serious injuries in a car accident. Neeraj was set to take on Amir Khan, a two-time world champion on July 12. The accident has ruled out Neeraj of the WBC Pearl World Championship Clash.

The 27-year-old from Haryana met with the accident when he was returning home after training.

Neeraj was set to take on Khan, a two-time world champion, in the WBC Pearl World Championship session in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on July 12.

"We are exceptionally tragic to educate that our star Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat who was getting ready for his mega-fight against Amir Khan met with a car accident the previous evening that has caused him extreme wounds on his head, face, and left arm. He is as of now in a medical clinic and us wish him a quick recuperation," Bill Dosanjh, Promoter of the Super Boxing League, said in a statement.

The coordinators are currently searching for a replacement for Neeraj.

"We are searching for Neeraj's replacement. If you don't mind hold on for us till we declare the new rival of Amir Khan," the statement said.

Neeraj is the WBC Asia welterweight titleholder and has a record of 11 wins including two knockouts, three losses, and two draws till date.
