The curfew implemented across the country to stop the spread of Corona virus epidemic in Sri Lanka will be abolished on Monday. Police have said. There are more than 400 patients infected with the corona virus in the country. On Friday, the highest numbers of cases were reported in a single day.

The Sri Lankan Naval Office has found 30 new cases of corona virus infection, which is a new cluster. As of Friday, a total of 414 cases were reported in the country and the death toll is only 7, whereas more than 100 folk have completely recovered from this disease.

In a statement released on Saturday, police said that the curfew would be lifted at 5 am on April 27. There is no indication of its re-insertion in the statement. However, analysts say the curfew can be imposed again. A new order is likely to be issued by the weekend.

Sri Lanka had announced a 24-hour curfew across the country on 20 March in view of the deadly infection. Last Monday, the government deferred its decision to relax the nationwide curfew and extended it to 27 April, in view of the sudden increase in the number of Corona patients.

Health Department officials said that this week they have increased the number of PCR (Polymer Chain Reaction) test and they aim to conduct 100 PCR tests per day.
