The state agency of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday launched a major operation in the capital Delhi in connection with a terror funding case. The agency carried out raids at five places in Delhi based on intelligence inputs. Apart from Delhi, raids were also carried out at one place in Haryana. The Jammu and Kashmir State Investigation Agency (SIA) was recently set up to look into cases related to terrorism and separatism.

SIA had formed several different teams for the operation

The agency is said to have received information about the presence of Jaish-e-Mohammed workers and supporters of other terrorist organizations. The SIA had formed several different teams for the operation. Out of these, five teams are conducting searches at various places in Delhi, while one team is searching in Haryana's Faridabad district while another team is searching in Kashmir's Anantnag district.

According to sources, the places raided by the SIA are of suspected suspects involved in terrorist activities and hawala or funding of terrorists. The SIA raids were carried out following confirmation of intelligence against OGW's activities in the national capital.

It may be recalled that in February 2022 this year, the SIA arrested 10 OGWs of JeM during raids in South and Central Kashmir. The module members were arranged vertically as sub-modules so that in the event of a single member being identified, the larger network would not be compromised.

According to sources, Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed had a hand in the matter of funding to spread terror in Jammu and Kashmir. Hizbul Mujahideen leaders Syed Salahuddin, Yasin Malik and Shabir Shah will be cracked down on terrorists under UAPA provisions.
