Social Media Saga: Gaurav Bhatia Faces Backlash After Responding to Danish Kaneria's Remarks on Arfa Khanum
Bhartiya Janata Party's national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia was trolled after he criticized former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria.
Gaurav Bhatia slammed Danish Kaneria after he tweeted against Indian journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani for her railing against the behavior of Indian crowds during the ongoing 2023 World Cup.
Gaurav Bhatia tweeted "Mr Danish Kaneria it would be good if you could put your house in order first. Arfa Khanum Sherwani denounced our country, incorrectly so, but our connection is not described by the religion we proclaim but by the nation, we love, our Bharat".
And not just this but Bhatia further precautioned Danish Kaneria of being thrown out of the "arena like the cricket ball", if he dared to "trouble a fellow Indian". All of this controversy began after Journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani tweeted that she was "embarrassed and ashamed as an Indian".
What Journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani Wrote?
Journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani wrote "The unfortunate behaviour of the cricket fans during the matches makes me ashamed & sorry as an Indian. This insecure, petty, & majoritarian practice towards sports which was meant to get people together, is symbolic of the India Modi-RSS have created in the last decade,"
In response to this tweet an hour later Danish Kaneria responded and asked Arfa Khanum Sherwani to "come to Pakistan".
What Danish Kaneria Wrote?
"Come to Pakistan if you are feeling embarrassed to be an Indian. India does not need people like you. And that I am sure many people in India will be more than happy to sponsor this trip,".
Upon noticing Kaneria's remarks on Sherwani, Gaurav Bhatia responded on X with the following statement: "Mr Danish Kaneria it would be nice if you could put your house in order first. Arfa Khanum Sherwani criticized our country, wrongly, but our relationship is not defined by the religion we profess but by the country we love, our Bharat. Even when there is very little in common with her, I decide to stand with a fellow Indian over the common faith we both have. Never dare to trouble a fellow Indian otherwise you will also be thrown out of the arena like the cricket ball. Jai Hind.
After Bhatia's tweet taking on Danish Kaneria, the storm of criticism came crashing down on Gaurav Bhatia.
In under 10 minutes of his initial tweet, Gaurav Bhatia responded to Sherwani with a Hindi proverb, "Dhobi ka kutta na ghar ka, na ghat ka,".
In the X showdown between Gaurav Bhatia, Arfa Khanum Sherwani, and Danish Kaneria, things got pretty heated. It's not just about India and Pakistan; it's about loyalty and how we express our love for our country.
As the argument goes on, Kaneria throws a challenge at Arfa Khanum. He's not just talking about tweets; he's talking about being loyal to your country. Asking for a single tweet praising Bharat makes us think about how we show our love for our nation on social media.
As we watch this debate unfold, we're left with a big question: Can we show our loyalty to India in just one X response? The sparks are flying, and the argument makes us think about the thin line between criticism, love for our country, and what we say online.
In this digital battle, Kaneria's challenge leaves us thinking about what it truly means to be loyal to India, especially on social media. It's not just an X fight; it's a conversation that might make us all reflect on how we express our love for our incredible country, Bharat.
