After Delhi AIIMS, now the Twitter handle of the Union Jal Shakti Ministry has been hacked. On Thursday morning, hackers hacked the Twitter handle of the Union Jal Shakti Ministry, after which the security agency and cyber experts got involved in the investigation of the matter.
However, now the account has been restored. This is the second major cyber attack on a government site after the Delhi AIIMS server was hacked last week.
A tweet promoting the crypto wallet Sui was posted from the Twitter handle of the ministry at 5:38 am on Tuesday. The account's profile picture and cover image was also changed. However, after some time the account was restored and all the tweets were deleted.
According to sources, the hackers had posted more than 80 tweets. The hackers posted multiple tweets tagging Swachh Bharat and other ministries.
9 days ago on November 23, the server of Delhi AIIMS was also hacked. After this, a case of extortion and cyber terrorism was registered but the source of the hacking is yet to be ascertained.
Currently, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN), Delhi Police and representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs are probing the incident.
