Ukraine: “I Want to Live”, Appeal of the Student who was Shot in Kyiv

Harjot Singh, an Indian student who was shot while leaving Kyiv, is currently in hospital and his condition is improving rapidly. He is now said to be out of danger. He has requested the Indian government through media that he should be expelled from Ukraine, he wants to live.

On Friday, while talking to the media, he said that I have got a second life, I want to live. I request the Indian Embassy to get me out of here. They should provide me with a wheelchair and help me prepare the documents. I want to tell the government that if you send a chartered plane after death, then it is of no use. Harjot Singh told that it does not matter whether you send charter (aircraft) after you die. God has given me a second life, I want to live it.

Incident of February 27

Harjot Singh informed about the incident that he was leaving Kyiv on 27 February along with his three companions. But near the third security post, we were told that you should go back due to security reasons. We were returning back, at the same time there was firing on our car and I got hit by multiple bullets and I was badly injured.

VK Singh had informed about Harjot's injury

It is worth noting that Union Minister General VK Singh had informed about the attack on Harjot Singh and told that he was fired upon while leaving Kyiv and he had to go back to Kyiv for treatment.

Mamta Banerjee highlighted concerns about the Center's role

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee questioned the Center's participation in bringing back students who had become stuck in Ukraine and voiced concern about their well-being. She accused the Center of delay in bringing back students from Ukraine and urged that adequate number of flights be arranged for the purpose.
