Republic Day Parade 2023: Preparations for 26 January are going on all over the country. Like every year, this time also the main function of Republic Day will be held in the capital Delhi where preparations for the parade are going on.
But this time the Republic Day parade will be special in many ways. The Republic Day parade will for the first time pass through the 'Kartavya Path' which was earlier known as Rajpath.
Along with this, it will be the first time this year that no VVIPs will sit in the first line to watch the Republic Day parade.
But shramjeevis (workers who helped build the Central Vista), their families, duty path maintenance workers, and other members of the community such as rickshaw pullers, small grocers and vegetable vendors will sit in front of the main stage during the parade.
Every year the front row is reserved for VVIPs to watch the Republic Day parade. But this year the workers will sit at the forefront.
According to the information received, the theme of Republic Day celebrations this year is 'Participation of common people'. The government's emphasis is on making this theme meaningful.
Under the theme of participation of common people, this year, the front row of the Republic Day parade will be occupied by the workers who worked in the construction of Central Vista, their families, kartavya path maintenance personnel including rickshaw pullers, small shopkeepers and vegetable vendors.
On January 26 this year, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will attend the Republic Day celebrations as the chief guest.
This will be the first Republic Day parade after the inauguration of the revamped Central Vista Avenue in September 2022.
In such a situation, the government will honour the workers who developed the Rajpath and built the Central Vista by making them sit at the forefront of the Republic Day parade.
This year, the Egyptian President will be accompanied by a 120-member marching contingent from his country at the Republic Day celebrations.
