Rajya Sabha By-Elections 2024: For the Rajya Sabha by-elections 2024, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its list of candidates. The BJP has announced candidates for 9 Rajya Sabha seats across 8 states.
Kiran Choudhry has been nominated from Haryana, and Ravneet Bittu from Rajasthan.
The by-elections for 12 Rajya Sabha seats in 9 states are scheduled for September 3. The Election Commission has also announced the schedule for these elections.
Following this, the BJP has revealed its candidates. The party issued a press release stating that the BJP's Central Election Committee has approved several names for the upcoming Rajya Sabha by-elections in different states.

Bihar: Manan Kumar Mishra
Haryana: Kiran Choudhry
Madhya Pradesh: George Kurian
Maharashtra: Dhairyasheel Patil
Odisha: Mamata Mohanta
Rajasthan: Ravneet Singh Bittu
Tripura: Rajib Bhattacharjee
In Maharashtra, Bihar, and Assam, there are 2 vacant seats each, while Tripura, Haryana, Rajasthan, Odisha, Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh each have one vacant seat.
Out of these 12 seats, 10 became vacant after members contested in Lok Sabha elections. In Odisha and Telangana, however, the vacancies occurred because Rajya Sabha members resigned from their parties to join other parties.
In Odisha, Mamata Mohanta of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) left her party to join the BJP, resulting in her resignation from the Rajya Sabha.
In Telangana, Keshav Rao left the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to join the Congress, leading to his resignation from the Rajya Sabha as well.
