Aadi Mahotsav in Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Adi Mahotsav on Thursday i.e. 16 February at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi.

The government is organizing this festival to provide tribal master crafts and direct market access to women.

The audience will get a chance to come face-to-face with the tribal crafts, culture, cuisine and trade at this festival to be held from February 16 to 27.

The special thing is that about 500 tribal artisans and artists from 28 states will participate in the 11-day fair.

While tribal chefs from 13 states will spice up the millets, which include Ragi Halwa, Kodo Kheer, Mandia Soup, Ragi Vada, Bajre Ki Roti, Bajre Ka Churma, Madua Ki Roti, Bhel, Kashmiri Raita etc.

Aadi Mahotsav in Delhi: Main objective is to promote organic production

Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda said on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the "Aadi Mahotsav" to be held at India Gate Circle.

There will also be an exhibition depicting tribal cuisine, and products of artisans and craftsmen from tribal communities.

It is being organized to ensure the full participation and involvement of tribal communities under the vision of a self-reliant India.

The main objective is to promote organic production. Apart from Delhi, such festivals are also being organized in other cities of the country.

Tribal chefs from 13 states are participating in the festival. Millets are a staple diet of tribal communities and the United Nations has declared 2023 as the International Year of Millet.

Under this, tribal artisans are invited to display and sell millet (Sri Anna) products and delicacies to increase the production and consumption of tribal millet.

Apart from this, dishes made of millet will also be specially available. Here you will also get to enjoy the tribal flavours of Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir etc.
