Responding to a question in writing, Muraleedharan said that "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made 21 foreign trips since the year 2019, on which more than Rs 22.76 crore has been spent. The government incurred an amount ₹22,76,76,934 on the Prime Minister's visits.
Along with this, while giving information about the President's foreign tours, he said that since the year 2019, the President has visited 8 countries, on which more than Rs 6.24 crore has been spent. The government spent ₹6,24,31,424 for the president's visits.
7 of the 8 visits were made by former President Ram Nath Kovind, while the current President Droupadi Murmu visited the UK in September last year.
President Droupadi Murmu made this visit to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II of Britain where she paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on behalf of India.
In the same period, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made 86 foreign visits.
There is news that US President Joe Biden has invited Modi for a state visit to the country.
On the invitation of US President Joe Biden, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi can visit America this summer.
According to the sources, the invitation has been accepted by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). Preparations for this tour are still in the preliminary stage.
India is also hosting the G-20 summit this year which will be attended by Joe Biden along with others.
