The Supreme Court has ordered to maintain the status quo on the demolition drive being carried out by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation in Delhi's Jahangirpuri. Earlier, the MCD was running a bulldozer against the illegal construction after the violence on the spot during the Hanuman Jayanti procession in Delhi.

Jahangirpuri Violence: Police arrested total of 26 people

Taking a stern stance on the violence in the Jahangirpuri area of Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday directed the Delhi Police officials to take strict action against the culprits and set a precedent so that such incidents do not happen again in future.

The investigation was intensified and the police arrested a total of 26 people, including two minors. Some of the accused have got police remand and they are being interrogated.
