CBI has achieved a major success ahead of Independence Day. They have managed to bring a Babbar Khalsa terrorist back to India from Dubai.
The terrorist, Tarsem Sandhu, was deported from Dubai. Tarsem is the mastermind behind the Mohali RPG attack. Both the CBI and the NIA had been searching for Tarsem for a long time.
He is a resident of Tarn Taran, Punjab, and the brother of Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Singh Landa.
The CBI's Global Operation Center Department, in coordination with the NIA and Interpol NCB, successfully brought the terrorist back to India from the UAE. A Red Corner Notice had been issued against the terrorist, leading to his deportation today.
The NIA had requested the CBI to issue a Red Corner Notice against Tarsem Sandhu due to his involvement in terrorist activities. On November 13, 2023, the CBI issued the Red Corner Notice at the NIA's request.
The notice was circulated to all Interpol member countries to trace the terrorist's location and facilitate his arrest.
Interpol located the terrorist in the UAE, leading to his arrest and deportation to India.
In May 2022, a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack was carried out on the headquarters of the police intelligence unit in Mohali, Punjab, causing the windows of one floor of the building to shatter.
At the time, the Punjab Police had pointed to the involvement of the terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International and Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI in the incident.
