What is Narco Test: There is a saying in the police department that "in front of the beating of the police, even the dumb begin to speak", but this saying sometimes does not prove to be correct.
In such a situation, the police resort to other methods. Narco test is included in this one method. In the heart-wrenching Shraddha Walker murder case in the capital, Delhi's Saket Court has approved a Narco test of accused Aftab Amin Poonawala.
This test is done to extract the truth from the criminal or the accused person. This test is done in the presence of forensic experts, investigating officers, doctors and psychologists etc.
Under the Narco Test, some medicines are given to the criminal, due to which his conscious mind goes into a dull state. In some cases, the criminal or the accused reaches a state of unconsciousness as well.
It is necessary to mention here that it is not that in Narco Test, the criminal/accused tells the truth every time and the case gets solved.
Many times, the criminal/accused is cleverer and dodges the investigating team even in the test.
Before conducting narco test of any criminal/accused, a physical examination is done in which it is checked whether the condition of the person is fit for this test or not.
If the person is sick, old or physically and mentally weak then this test is not conducted.
Based on the person's health, age and gender, he is given medicines for a narco test. Many times this test also fails due to the high dosage of medicine, so many important precautions have to be taken before doing this test.
In many cases, during this test, a person can go into a coma or even die due to an overdose of the medicines, therefore this test is done after a lot of thought.
In this test, a psychoactive drug named "truth drug" is given to the criminal or a person or "sodium pentothal or sodium amytal" is injected.
As soon as the effect of this medicine takes place, the person reaches such a state where the person does not become completely unconscious and does not remain completely conscious.
That is, the logical ability of the person is weakened in which the person is not able to speak much. Due to the effect of these medicines, the person's ability to think and understand ends for some time.
In this situation, questions related to a case are asked to that person. By doing this test, the ability of the person's mind to think logically or in a roundabout way ends, so whatever the person says in this state, the possibility of being true increases.
In the year 2010 K.G. Balakrishnan's 3-judge bench had said that the consent of the person whose narco test or polygraph test is to be taken is also necessary.
However, it is also necessary for CBI and other agencies to take permission from the court to do someone's narco test.
It is known that more brain is used to lie, while less brain is used to tell the truth, because what is true comes out easily without much emphasis on the brain, but to lie, the brain is used. You have to talk in a roundabout way.
In this test, the truth is not only made to come out from the person but the reactions of his body are also observed. In many cases, it is only to be ascertained whether the person is related to that incident or not.
In such a case the person is made to lie down in front of the computer screen and visuals are shown on the computer screen.
First, normal visuals like trees, plants, flowers and fruits etc. are shown. After this, he is shown a picture related to that case, and then the reactions of the person's body are observed.
In such a situation, if the mind and body react differently, then it is known that the person is related to that incident or case.
