
Kulgam Encounter: Two terrorists were killed by security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday i.e. May 8. One of the two terrorists killed in the encounter with security forces in Kulgam is a Pakistani terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist group. Police has given this information.
An official of the Jammu and Kashmir Police said that the encounter started in Cheyan Devsar area of jammu & Kashmir's Kulgam when security forces cordoned off the area following information about the presence of terrorists.
Both the terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists, the official said.
Kashmir's Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar had earlier said that one of the terrorists surrounded in the encounter is a Pakistani. He had said, 'A Pakistani terrorist (Haider) and a local terrorist of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba are involved in the ongoing encounter with the security forces.'
According to Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar, Haider was active in North Kashmir for more than two years and was involved in several terrorist incidents. Also he said that incriminating documents have been recovered from these terrorists. Arms and ammunition have also been recovered from them.
Earlier in the morning, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had told the media that two terrorists were surrounded by security forces. An encounter is going on between the security forces with both the terrorists.
About 7 hours later, the police told the media that both the terrorists had been killed by the security forces.
