1993 Mumbai Blasts: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad on Tuesday cracked down on the operatives of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Gujarat ATS has arrested four wanted criminals in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blast case.
Gujarat ATS has succeeded in nabbing Abu Bakar, Yusuf Bhataka, Shoaib Baba and Syed Qureshi among Dawood's accomplices.
All four have been arrested based on intelligence inputs. It is being told that after the Mumbai serial blasts, these four criminals fled abroad and came to Ahmedabad on fake passports.
According to media reports, four henchmen of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and wanted criminals of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts Abu Bakar, Yusuf Bhatka, Shoaib Baba and Syed Qureshi had changed their addresses to mislead intelligence and security agencies.
All the addresses mentioned in the passport on their behalf were found to be fake. It has also been told in the report that these four are also involved in the terrorist incident in Jaipur. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is probing the matter.
Let us tell you that on May 9 of this month, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided the hideouts of real estate managers, drug smugglers and smugglers involved in extortion and sharpshooters associated with the terrorist organization D-Company of the underworld don.
During this, a search operation was conducted in Borivali, Santacruz, Bandra, Nagpada, Goregaon and Parel areas. It is also being told that in the case in which the raid was conducted by the NIA, in the same case, Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik is currently in jail.
After this, the investigating agency arrested Arif Sheikh and Shabbir Sheikh, two henchmen of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim on May 13.
Both of them are said to be involved in illegal drug trafficking, illegal recovery and terror funding. After their arrest, the NIA had produced them in the court last Friday for their custody for interrogation.
