Delhi: FIR Registered against VHP and Bajrang Dal in Jahangirpuri Violence Case

Jahangirpuri Violence: Police is taking swift action in the case of violence during the Hanuman Jayanti procession in the Jahangirpuri area of ​​the national capital, Delhi. Delhi Police has arrested 24 accused in the case so far. Two minors involved in the violence are also in police custody. Here, to maintain peace in the area, the Union Home Ministry has deployed five companies of CRPF and RAF. Every suspicious activity is being monitored.

Earlier, Delhi Police arrested Sonu Sheikh for firing during a clash in the Jahangirpuri area. Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said about two dozen people from both communities have been arrested so far in connection with the violence. He said four forensic teams had also reached the spot and collected evidence.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR against VHP and Bajrang Dal members for holding an unauthorized procession in the Jahangirpuri area. VHP district service chief Prem Sharma has also been arrested in the case. Police have made it clear that those involved in violence based on caste, religion, class or race will not be spared.

Earlier on Monday, Commissioner of Police Rakesh Asthana told a press conference that the crime branch is conducting an in-depth probe into the Jahangirpuri violence case. Fourteen Crime Branch teams have been formed for the probe. He said that the team has started its work. The incident is being investigated from all the angles. The accused directly or indirectly involved in this case will not be spared.

On Monday, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana also clarified that the Delhi Police would take stern action against those who spread rumours. He also appealed to the people not to pay attention to any rumours. He said that some people were trying to disturb the peace through social media. At the same time, he also said that the video footage of social media is being investigated regarding the whole matter.
