
COVID-19 Update: According to the Union Health Ministry, 2961 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in India in the 24 hours ending at 8 am on Saturday.
The death toll due to COVID-19 has increased to 5,31,659 with 17 new deaths.
According to the Ministry of Health, there are currently 30,041 active cases of COVID-19 in the country, and 6,135 people have recovered in the last 24 hours.
With the new cases, the total number of infections in the country has reached 4.49 crore (4,49,67,250).
The total number of people who have recovered from the virus has increased to 4,44,05,550.
At present, active cases account for only 0.07 per cent of the total infection cases.
According to the health ministry, the COVID-19 recovery rate in the country is currently at 98.75 per cent, and the fatality rate is at 1.18 per cent.
The daily positivity rate is 2.12 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 2.63 per cent.
There have been 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the country under the nationwide vaccination campaign. Among them, 95.21 crore people have received their second dose, and 22.87 crore have received a booster dose.
In the last 24 hours, 1,198 doses were administered. Additionally, a total of 92.75 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the country so far, with 1,39,814 tests performed in the last 24 hours.
