The Central Government has announced new rules for working from home for the Special Economic Zone. Under this, employees of companies located in SEZs can work from home for a maximum of one year.

According to the notification of the Ministry of Commerce, a company can allow a maximum of 50% of its employees to work from home. The ministry says that after the request of the industry, new guidelines have been brought for SEZs.

Reasons to be given: Under the new rules, the Development Commissioner of SEDAs will be empowered to allow the company or entity to allow 50% of its employees to work from home for genuine reasons.

These will benefit: Under the new rules of the government for the Special Economic Zone, some categories of employees will be allowed to work from home. These include employees working in the IT sector as well as in many other sectors.
