The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) held high-level meet was under the presidency of India on Monday regarding the situation in Afghanistan. This was the second meeting on the situation in Afghanistan in the last ten days in which all countries, including India, expressed their concerns and appealed to the Taliban to leave violence and try to normalize the situation through political consensus. India has asked the UNSC to make efforts to restore peace in Afghanistan under its leadership.

At the same time, India has again warned the world fraternity that everyone will have to together to ensure that the Afghan territory isn't used by terrorist groups to threaten or attack any other country, then Afghanistan's neighbours and region would feel safer. India's Ambassador to the United Nations TS Trimurti told the meeting that the international community and the Security Council have a special responsibility to take immediate steps to end the violence in Afghanistan and prevent further escalation of the crisis.

Trimurti urged all the countries to take steps to end terrorism:

In his address, Trimurti has urged all the countries to take steps to end terrorism in every form. He said, "As a neighbour of Afghanistan, as a friend of its people. The current situation prevailing in the country is of great concern to us in India. Afghan men, women, and children are living under a constant state of fear."

In the meeting, Pakistan also proposed to present its point of view. For this, Pakistan held India responsible and said that India is using the United Nations for political purposes. China's ambassador expressed regret for not getting a chance for Pakistan. Meanwhile, China has expressed hope that the Taliban will fulfill its promise. It will work to find a political solution to the problem there.
