He said that it was a difficult time, while in December 2012, the investigation was launched by filing a report in the Vasant Vihar gang-rape case. Nirbhaya was gang-raped on 16 December 2012. He died during treatment. The brutality of the incident shook the entire nation. There were mass protests from across the capital to the whole country. At that time people were demanding that the accused be thrown in front of hungry lions. Somebody talked about handing them over to the crowd in public, someone talked about beating them up, but at that time the police acted with great patience. At that time there was pressure on the police officers, but the idea of doing nothing wrong came to one's mind.
In the book 'Khaki Files' written by Neeraj Kumar, he mentions that his daughters were threatened with rape and demanded his resignation. He was made to feel as if he was also one of the misdemeanors. At that time, he had spoken of cooperating in any investigation, because the police had acted without any wrong way.
