Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi met LK Advani at his residence here on Friday. A day earlier, Advani had said that his party has not considered himself as a politically disagree with "anti-national". Advani's remark is being considered as important because Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah The top BJP leaders, including Balakot air strikes, have described opposition parties as anti-national.

Sources said that Joshi reached the residence of Advani and discussed with him. The two leaders did not comment on the conversation in the meeting. Advani and Joshi are among the senior BJP leaders who have not been given tickets to contest Lok Sabha elections. Advani (91) is one of the founders of BJP and he is the longest-serving president of the party. He won from Gandhinagar parliamentary seat six times since 1991.

Joshi, among the founders of the party, was also the BJP's third president. He was not given ticket from Kanpur after which he had issued a statement and had said that BJP's General Secretary (Organization) Ram Lal has informed him that the party leadership has decided that he should not contest elections.
