Mumbai: BMC Withdraws Order of Burning Dead Bodies of Those Who Died of Corona Virus

The Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has withdrawn the order to burn the bodies of those killed due to corona virus. The BMC had earlier said in its order that if a patient dies due to corona virus, regardless of religion or community, his body will be burnt.

But this order was withdrawn after political pressure. After reviewing it, a new order was issued. It said that if someone wants to bury the dead body, then he must take all necessary precautions in the presence of the police. If he does not do so, action will be taken against that person.

In the previous order, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation also said that if someone wants to bury the dead body, then he can do it outside the jurisdiction of Mumbai. As soon as the BMC issued the first order, there was pressure from the political parties to withdraw it immediately. However, after the new order was issued, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik tweeted a tweet. In it, he wrote that 'I have talked to BMC Commissioner Praveen Pardeshi about the circular. He said that the previous circular has been canceled. However, on the previous order, the BMC argued that any traditions that involve touching the dead bodies will be avoided.'

It should be noted that the havoc of Corona virus is increasing in the country. The number of infected patients has reached around 1400. At the same time, 40 people have died due to this death virus. Over 7 lakh 86 thousand people worldwide are vulnerable to this disease. At the same time, 37, 820 people have taken this virus.

However, this virus has not reached the third stage in India. On Monday, the Union Health Ministry had told that the outbreak of Corona virus is still in the local transmission stage. The ministry made it clear that Corona has not yet reached the third stage i.e. community transmission stage in India. Health Ministry's Joint Secretary Love Aggarwal said that four people have died due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
