Mother Dairy Price Rises, Milk Prices up by Rs. 2 per Litre

Mother Dairy has increased the prices of milk by two rupees per liter on Friday. The company has said that due to the cost of animal feed, the farmers have to pay more for the production of milk.

In the National Capital Region, the leading milk producing company has increased prices of milk after more than two years. A few days ago, Amul had increased milk prices by two rupees per liter. Mother Dairy has only increased the prices of poly pack milk. The price of milk sold through tokens has not been increased.

The company said in the statement, "On one-liter pack, only two rupees per liter has been increased and on half liter pack, the price has been increased by Re. 1. The company, which supplies more than 30 lakh liters of milk per day in Delhi-NCR, had earlier raised the price in March 2017.

The company said, "The cost of procurement of milk from the last 3-4 months is increasing constantly. The cost of fodder and labor has increased by 15 to 20 percent. We have to pay more than 7-8% to milk producers than that of the last year, whereas the prices for consumers have not been increased yet."

Mother Dairy will continue to support its dairy farmers with beneficial prices and this is also the main reason for the rise in prices. The company returns nearly 80 percent of the profit to the farmers. According to the new rate, the price of full cream milk will now be 53 rupees per liter instead of 52 rupees, whereas the price of half-litre pack will increase from 26 rupees to 27 rupees.

Full cream (premium) milk will be sold at Rs 55 per liter and half a liter of milk for Rs 28. The rate of toned milk has been increased from Rs. 41 to Rs. 42 per liter. The price of half a liter pack has been increased from Rs. 21 to Rs. 22.

Double-toned milk (Live Lite) will be sold at Rs. 36 per liter instead of Rs. 34 per liter. The price of 500 ml pack has been increased from 18 rupees to 19 rupees. The price of half-litre skimmed milk (Dietz) has been increased from Rs. 20 to Rs. 21.

In case of cow's milk, there has been no increase in the rate of one liter poly pack, but the price has been increased by Re. 1 to 22 rupees on a half-liter pack.
