Quad countries have now started mobilizing against China. The first in-person (in which leaders will be present) summit is going to be held in the US on September 24.  US President Joe Biden hosted this summit in Washington for the first time. It will also include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Australian PM Scott Morrison, and Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga. Modi will also deliver a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on August 25.

In the summit, the virtual meeting of the Quad held on March 12 will be discussed on the progress of the agendas fixed. Apart from this, the focus will be on increasing cooperation on issues like Covid-19, climate change, new technologies, cyberspace, and keeping the Indo-Pacific region free. This is the first time the four countries are going to hold an in-person meeting together. This is the second foreign visit of Prime Minister Modi during the Corona period.

The QUAD meeting took place virtually

  1. Quad countries will crack down on China

The last quad meeting took place virtually on 12 March 2021. This was the first meeting of the Quad. In this, a strategy was made to surround China on many fronts. To counter China's vaccine policy, the US had agreed to supply vaccines to poor countries.

  1. There was an agreement to increase vaccine production

The four countries had agreed to share their resources to make the vaccine. This means that the capabilities of the four countries to make vaccines will be further enhanced.

  1. What did PM Modi say in the meeting

In the meeting, Prime Minister Modi had said that climate change is at the top of our priority. We will work together for a secular, stable, and prosperous Indo Pacific to advance shared values. I see this positive vision as an extension of the ancient philosophy of India 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'.

  1. Biden had said – will bring a new mechanism

US President Joe Biden said that the US is committed to working with all allies in the Indo-Pacific. He had said that America is going to bring a new mechanism to increase mutual cooperation to deal with the challenges of climate change.

Australian PM started his speech with Namaste

Australian PM Scott Morrison started his speech with 'Namaste'. He had said that in the 21st century, the Indo-Pacific region will decide the fate of the world. For this, many countries of this region will have to come together and work.

In this meeting, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said that I am emotional about the Quad. Our commitment is for the free Indo-Pacific region. We want peace and stability in the region. For this the cooperation of all the four countries is necessary.
