In a country riddled with Corona crisis, on one hand the central government is resuming economic activities and at the same time, corona cases are increasing in many states. Mizoram, a state bordering Myanmar, has taken a drastic step to announce the extension of the lockdown in the state as the state chief minister announced to extend the lockdown by 2 weeks.
According to information received from the state government, after discussions with various districts of the state, Chief Minister Joramthanga has decided to extend the lockdown period by 2 weeks. This period will start from 9 June 2020. According to the state government, the guidelines for the lockdown will be released soon, while so far, 34 corona patients have been reported in the state. Out of this, 33 cases are active and only 1 person has recovered.
