Robbery took place in the mid night in the areas of South Delhi. After drinking alcohol, the parathas were looted to fulfill their desire to eat. The incident took place in Fatehpur Beri area of South Delhi. However, the accused could not escape the police for a long time and were caught while checking. Police arrested total four accused, including three minors. A robbed mobile and Scooty used in the incident have been recovered from the accused. The adult accused is a 20-year-old Mongolian resident Chaman.
Bike stopped in Fatehpur Beri area
DCP South District Atul Kumar Thakur said that at around 12 pm on December 26-27 last year, Santosh Kumar Singh was going to his house Sector 45 Noida from Ghitaurni. He was on Ola two Wheeler. When he reached Mandi Road, the four accused riding the scooty stopped him. One snatched away his mobile and the other forcibly took out 1200 rupees from his pocket. After the incident, all the accused fled to Mandi village.
CCTV cameras checked around the scene
After the incident, the victim lodged a robbery case at Fatehpur Beri police station. The team of local police station Kuldeep Singh checked the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the scene. The entire route of the incident was observed. During investigation, the police came to know about Scooty.
Robbery caught while checking for Scooty’s identity
At eight o’clock on 21 January, the police stopped seeing the same colored scooty during the patrolling in Devta Mohalla Sultanpur area. The police nabbed the accused Chaman and his three minor accomplices. After searching them, the victim’s robbed mobile was found with Chaman.
Accused Chaman told the police that he has studied till 12th. Currently unemployed. Falling into wrong company, he started consuming alcohol and drugs. To fulfill these needs, he started looting and snapping with his three companions. The accused said that after drinking alcohol the night of the incident, he wanted to eat paratha. Due to not having money, the robbery was done.
