A tableau of the Finance Ministry will also be included in the Republic Day parade this year. In this tableau, the ministry will show its achievements related to financial inclusion. The Ministry of Defense has chosen the design of the Department of Finance (DFS) to be included in the parade. In the Republic Day parade, apart from DFS, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, NDRF and CPWD  Ministry said There will also be tableaux for off shipping.

The Central Government has been running financial inclusion schemes in mission mode since August 2014. It aims to ensure access to financial services such as banking / savings and deposit account / insurance and pension. 37.87 crore accounts have been opened under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. There is a total deposit of 1.12 lakh crore rupees.

India's efforts in financial inclusion have also been appreciated by the World Bank. According to World Bank data, 55 percent of the newly opened bank accounts were from India. According to the World Bank Global Findex Report 2017, the proportion of adults having bank accounts in India increased to 80 percent in 2017. In 2014, this figure was 53 percent. At the same time, in 2011, 35 percent of adult Indians had a bank account.

For this, the government has also taken steps to bring more and more people under insurance cover. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana were started in 2015.
