Former coach of Pakistan cricket team Mickey Arthur can be appointed as head coach of Sri Lanka team. Mickey was removed as coach after Pakistan's poor performance in the ICC World Cup. It is now reported that talks are on to appoint the former Pakistan coach as the new head coach of the Sri Lanka cricket team. According to news from ESPNcricinfo Sri Lanka Cricket have convinced former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur for the next two years. As of now, it has not been officially announced but the media will be informed soon about this.

According to the news, Former Zimbabwe cricketer Grant Flower, who worked as a batting coach with the Pakistan cricket team, has also been linked with the team. Grant will work with the Sri Lankan team as a batting coach. So while David Sakher will be appointed as the bowling coach of the team, Shane Mc Dormett will work as the fielding coach. Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley Di Silva said that Grant Flower, David and Shane will join the team for the next two-year contract.

According to the information, Grant will only work with the Sri Lankan team in limited format. He will not accompany the team in the two-match Test series played against Pakistan. Mickey Arthur, who worked as a head coach with the Pakistan and South Africa cricket team, was recently released from a T20 contract by a New Zealand home team. Sri Lanka is scheduled to play in a two-match Test series against Pakistan this month. The tour of Pakistan is considered to be important for Sri Lanka as this time. In September, key players of the Pakistan team had withdrawn their names, refusing to go on tour.
