MHA Issues Guidelines for Independence Day Celebration amid COVID-19

Coronavirus cases are increasing rapidly in the country. In view of this, all public programs and rallies are temporarily banned. Meanwhile, preparations for Independence Day celebrations are in full swing.  In such a situation, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued guidelines for Independence Day celebrations in view of COVID-19. The ministry has asked all government offices, states, governors, etc. to avoid public events and use technology for ceremonies. This time, very few guests have been invited on the occasion of Independence Day.

Guidelines will be followed during the event:

During this time, hand sanitizers will be kept in each and every corner. It will be necessary for everyone to wear a mask. There will be a separate seating arrangement and two yards distance will be ensured. It is believed that apart from Union ministers, senior officials, Corona warriors can also be invited.

Topic related vaccine, border security can be mentioned in PM's speech:

According to sources, in the Prime Minister's address to the country on August 15, the topics related to the Corona vaccine, border security, and how the Swadeshi campaign has stepped up in the battle of Corona can be mentioned. Police officers around the Red Fort will be seen wearing PPE kits.

About 1000 Special guests attend this event every year:

The seating distance between guests will be maintained according to the guideline. About one thousand special guests attends Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort every year, but this time it will not happen. This year the number will be capped at around 250. Also, the theme will be dedicated to the Corona Warriors.
