Men start sex more than three times as frequently as ladies do in a long haul, heterosexual relationship, says a study. The researchers explored what are different components which assume a role for the recurrence of intercourse in couples in long term relationships.
The study, distributed in the journal Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences, recommends that two variables are conclusive in how often women take the initiative at all – their demeanor towards casual sex and passion. The researchers considered a few factors in their investigation, for example, how happy individuals are in their relationship, how dedicated they feel to their partner, how private they are, the amount they trust one another and the adoration between them.
"Passion in the relationship is of great importance for intercourse frequency," said the study's first creator Trond Viggo Grontvedt from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
"Passion is actually the only one of these factors that matter. We didn't find any association between any of the other aspects and how often people have sex in couple relationships," he included.
The investigation included 92 couples matured somewhere in the range of 19 and 30. Relationships shifted long from one month to nine years, with a normal of just shy of two years. The couples engaged in sexual relations a few times each week on a normal. The more extended the relationship had kept going, the less regularly the couples had intercourse.
The investigation likewise uncovered that craving for others reduces passion. "Strong sexual fantasies about others than the partner don't mix well with passion in a relationship," said Mons Bendixen, Associate Professor at NTNU.
