In a tweet made by the Karnataka Chief Minister's office, it was written that my government is always committed to the freedom of media. I will make sincere efforts and request Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri to reconsider his decision to ban the media from telecasting the proceedings of the House. As per the order, only Doordarshan cameras are allowed inside the Legislative Assembly.

On Wednesday, Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly Visheswar Hegde Kageri issued an order prohibiting live telecast of the proceedings of the House on private channels. As per the order, cameras of TV channels will not be allowed to enter the assembly.
