The Investigation Coordinator of ICC's Anti Corruption Unit, Steve Richardson believes that match-fixing law will prove to be a game-changer in India. The ICC Anti Corruption Officer has said that this would be the most effective thing to protect the game from match-fixers. The ICC also says this because there will be two ICC events in India between 2021 to 2023.

In such a situation, both these ICC events will be targeted by match-fixers and protecting it from them is always a challenge for ICC with less resources. In India, however, there has been no fixing in international cricket in the recent past.
Will do everything possible to disrupt the corrupters: Richardson
Richardson has said, "India is getting two ICC global events: the T20 World Cup in 2021 and the ODI World Cup in 2023. There is no law at the moment, we will have good relations with the Indian police, but they are operating with one hand tied behind their backs. We will do everything possible to disrupt the corrupters. We do, we make their lives very difficult. "
The ICC official has said, "This law will be a game-changer in India. We currently have only 50 investigations. Most of them have connections with the corrupters in India. So it is in the matter of introducing match-fixing law to India would be the most effective thing in terms of protecting.
