The country's largest auto maker company Maruti Suzuki has announced a reduction in prices of its 10 model cars by up to Rs 5000. The cars that Maruti has reduced prices include all variants of Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift Diesel, Celerio, Baleno Diesel, Ignis, Dzire Diesel, Tour S Diesel, Vitara Brezza and S Cross. According to the information given by Maruti Suzuki to the stock market, new prices have been implemented. This discount of the company is different from other festive season offers. This means that customers will get separate offers for the festive season of Maruti Suzuki separately.
Decision after Corporate Tax Deduction
It has been said on behalf of Maruti Suzuki that this decision was taken to extend the benefit of corporate tax reduction to the customers. This will make it easier for the entry-level customers to buy the car. The company hopes that this will improve sentiments during the festive season and demand will pick up.
On Friday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had talked about exempting corporate tax on domestic companies. He told that now these companies will be charged 22% income tax without any exemption. At the same time, after adding surcharge and cess, the company will have to pay 25.17 percent tax. This will benefit the big companies of the country who fall in the 30% corporate tax slab.
Maruti is Upset with the Decline in Sales
This decision has been taken by Maruti Suzuki at a time when the company's sales are continuously declining. Due to this, production has to be cut as well. In these conditions, Maruti Suzuki also stopped the plants of Manesar and Gurugram on September 7 and 9. It is reported that in August, Maruti's car sales decreased by 32.7 percent to 1,06,413 vehicles. Whereas in the same month last year, the company had sales of 1,58,189 units. However, it has been reported by the company that sales have increased in September compared to August.
