Manoj Mukund Narwane, the newly appointed Army Chief of the country, not only has experience working on all operational front but is also considered as one of the best in the army. Narwane has long experience working on the China and Pakistan border. He is identified as a strict and cautious officer.

Narwane will replace the current Army Chief Bipin Rawat who will retire on 31 December. Narwane will remain the army chief until April 2022. The government has followed the rule of seniority in the appointment of Narwane. The special thing is that apart from Narwane, Air Force Chief RK Bhadoria and Naval Chief Karambir Singh are also from the 56th batch of NDA.

The officers who have worked with Narwane call him a great man. He was the head of the Kolkata-based Eastern Army Command before becoming Deputy Chief of Staff in September. The officer said that he keeps his sayings without any hindrance.

Identification of a vigilant and strict officer

Narwane has always been known as a vigilant officer to many officers and he used to ask the soldiers to remain the same even if there is peace on the LOC. It is important for them not to harm their jawan in any way.

Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh was also in the race

Apart from Narwane, the name of Lieutenant General (Dogra Regiment) Ranbir Singh was also included in the race for the new army chief. Ranbir Singh was the Director General of Military Intelligence during a September 2016 surgical strike against militant organizations in Myanmar and a September 2016 surgical strike on terrorist targets of POK.
