Young shooter Manavaditya Singh Rathore had earlier felt that being the son of a champion shooter (Former Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore), he would have to go through comparisons and this made him cautious, but he benefited from a change in perception and he started doing well.

Manavaditya is now eyeing a place in the Indian senior team after eight years of shooting. 20-year-old Manavaditya Singh Rathore won three gold medals in the recently concluded two-day 63rd National Shotgun Shooting Championship. After performing well in the junior level tournaments, Manavaditya now wants to claim a selection for the senior team by performing well in the trials next month.

Manavaditya Singh Rathore said about the selection in the senior team, "I am happy to conclude the junior level tournament with such a performance. Like any other player my goal is to participate in the Olympics and win medals there, but my immediate goal is to make a place in the Indian senior team. "  He was asked if he benefited from being the son of an internationally renowned father, saying, "Initially whenever I used to play in a tournament I used to be more cautious. I used to think about many things, but when I thought about it deeply and realized that I could benefit from them a lot."

Manavaditya Singh Rathore further added, "My father (Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore) is a sportsman himself and so he can understand it better. Yes, he often teaches me tricks and shares his career experiences. It definitely helps me. Many times we both go to the range together and shoot. It is also a picnic. It feels good. "
